Every release is assigned to two types of codes
a barcode for the product as a whole (UPC code)
and ISRC [International Standard Recording Codes] for the individual tracks.
Stores will use these codes to track and report sales of releases to chart companies like Billboard.
However if your release is not registered when the stores report sales, they won’t have your data on file to allocate sales to. Meaning, that you will still get your royalties but if you sell enough you will not be listed in the charts. Now we will be able to do this for you, we offer all our premium clients the benefits of chart registration.
Therefore to have a top 10 Album or single you need two things:
Be Chart Eligible – Selling your music on chart reporting stores like iTunes
To Be Chart Registered – Have each of your releases registered with the Chart companies
